Our Treatments
We combine Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture with refined techniques and contemporary methods in specialised areas such as Dr. Tan’s Balance Method, auricular acupuncture, posturology, and myoreflex therapy. These treatment methods complement each other to provide the most effective and long-lasting relief for our clients.
At House of Acupuncture, we don’t just eliminate your symptoms – we also address the underlying causes. Since no two people are the same, we always tailor our treatments to your personal history and needs. Whether you're seeking relief from pain, hormonal imbalances, or allergy, our treatments are designed specifically for you.
Welcome to House of Acupuncture.
Our Treatments
An ancient method where thin needles are inserted into specific points on the body to stimulate the body’s own healing processes. It is effective for conditions such as pain, allergies, digestive issues, and sleep disorders.
In auricular acupuncture, the ear acts as an entry point to treat the entire body. Stimulating specific points on the ear can influence organs and the nervous system, making this method especially effective for treating pain, addiction, and stress-related conditions.
Focuses on the body's posture and movement patterns. By correcting imbalances in the body’s sensory systems, we can reduce pain and improve your posture.
Myoreflex therapy regulates muscle function through pressure applied to the muscle fascia system. This releases tension and improves blood circulation. It is particularly effective for muscular pain, tension headaches, and musculoskeletal disorders.
How it works
Our top priority is ensuring that you feel comfortable and at ease from start to finish. In our clinic, we have both male and female practitioners, so you can choose the one you prefer.
1.
The first session last 75 minutes – 30 minutes for the consultation and 45 minutes for the treatment. The consultation helps us understand the cause of your symptoms, allowing us to customise the treatment and plan a course of action.
2.
One hour before your treatment, it’s best to avoid eating or drinking anything that could color your tongue, as we use the tongue as part of our diagnostic tool. It’s also important to wear loose-fitting clothing to make it easier for us to treat areas like your arms and legs.
3.
After the consultation, we will make a diagnosis and choose the best treatment method – acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, myoreflex therapy, or posturology. If you have a fear of needles, we offer alternatives such as acupressure or small bead patches.
FAQ
We have gathered answers to some of the most common questions about our treatments. If you don't find what you're looking for, feel free to contact us.
Acupuncture is a treatment without side effects.
As certified acupuncturists, we are trained in anatomy and know the location of veins and arteries. However, since everyone is unique, the course of these veins and arteries can vary from person to person. Therefore, there is always a small risk of minor bleeding, which will be no more than a drop of blood but may cause a small bruise at the most.
It rarely happens, but when it does, it's completely harmless.
Are you afraid of needles? You're not alone – needle phobia is something many people experience.
Traditional Chinese Medicine is more than just needles. A fear of needles shouldn’t keep you from seeking acupuncture treatment. If you have needle phobia, are sensitive, or for any reason cannot tolerate acupuncture with needles, there are alternative options at House of Acupuncture. Here, we also use acupressure, ear seeds, and cupping.
Fewer needles in a treatment: less discomfort – more effect
The acupuncture treatment is carefully tailored to accommodate individual sensitivity and fear of needles. Only ultra-thin, high-quality acupuncture needles are used —approximately the thickness of a strand of hair. The needle tips are coated with silicone, allowing them to glide smoothly and quickly through the skin, making the treatment virtually painless. At House of Acupuncture, we use a method that involves only a few needles per treatment. This not only minimises discomfort from multiple needle insertions but also makes the treatment highly precise and extremely effective. Additionally, acupuncture rarely involves needling directly at the pain site. For example, an aching shoulder is treated with acupuncture points located elsewhere on the body. This approach, rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, is both effective and comfortable, as it avoids further aggravating the pain being treated.
Acupuncture can relieve everything from pain and stress to digestive issues and hormonal imbalances. Do you suffer from headaches, back pain, sleep problems, or perhaps menopause symptoms? Acupuncture works with the entire body and helps restore balance – both physically and mentally. Whether you're seeking help for acute or chronic challenges, acupuncture could be the path to greater well-being.
Dress Comfortably
Acupuncture often involves working with specific areas of the body, so it’s a good idea to wear loose-fitting clothing that allows for easy access to roll up sleeves or trousers.
Inform About Health Conditions
If you have any underlying health conditions, take medication, are pregnant, or have other relevant medical information, it’s important to inform your practitioner. This ensures that the treatment is tailored to your needs.
Stay Hydrated After Treatment
Drinking plenty of water after your session can help your body recover and support the natural healing process.
Acupuncture is generally a relaxing experience, so there isn’t much you need to do to prepare. Your practitioner will guide you through the treatment and ensure that you feel safe and comfortable throughout the session.
We listen to understand, so we can eliminate symptoms and treat the root cause.
